Andrea Cecon

Andrea Cecon ( born July 18, 1970 in Gemona del Friuli ) is a former Italian Nordic combined.

Cecon won at the Italian Championships in 1988 behind Stefano Lunardi and Gianpaolo Mosele the bronze medal. After 1989, the championships were canceled, he won the 1990 his first Italian title in the combination before Andrea Bezzi and Andrea Longo. A year later, he won silver behind Paolo Bernardi. After he won his second title at the National Championships in 1992, he was on 11 January 1992 Breitenwang his debut in the World Cup Nordic Combined. He immediately reached the 13th place a place within the score points and so won first World Cup points. In the Nordic World Ski Championships 1993 in Falun, he reached the sixth place with the team in the team competition. In his subsequent start in the World Cup he achieved placings in the top ten and thus valuable World Cup points for the first time. The 1993/94 season he finished in 14th place overall.

At the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, he first appeared in the combined and ski jumping. In singles, the combination he reached after a 27th place in jumping at the end of the 33rd rank. Together with Andrea Longo and Simone Pinzani he reached in the team competition the 11th place with a gap of more than 22 minutes. For the team competition in the team competition, he was nominated along with his brother Roberto Cecon and Ivan Lunardi and Ivo Pertile. The team reached the eighth. In the short time after the games taking place Italian championships won Cecon after 1990 and 1992, his third championship. In the 1994/95 season he reached with 175 points at the end of 35th place in the World Cup. In 1996, he competed for two years in B- World Cup, where he scored victories including in Calgary and Štrbské Pleso. In 1998 he won the Italian championship for the fourth time. Shortly thereafter, he moved back to the World Cup.

In the Nordic World Ski Championships 1999 in Ramsau am Dachstein Cecon was ranked 20th in the individual Gundersen. In the sprint, he was at the end on the 38th. The 1998/99 season he joined a short time later from 43rd place overall. After he succeeded to the start of the following season no more points standings he ended his active career in 2000.
