Andrea Schöpp

Andrea Schoepp ( born February 27, 1965 in Garmisch -Partenkirchen ) is a German curler. She plays on the position of the skip and is a member of the SC Riessersee.

Personal

Schoepp 1984 began with a study of statistics at the University of Munich where she completed in 1991 with a diploma. Since this year, she is employed at the University of Munich. In 1996, she completed a doctoral program successfully.

Career

1992 at the Olympic Winter Games in Albertville a demonstration competition was played, the winning team. In 1998, the team played Schoepp at the Olympic Winter Games in Nagano, finishing at the end of the 8th Place.

The Curling Championship 2009 in Aberdeen Schoepp won with her team Third Melanie Robillard, second Monika Wagner, Lead Corinna Scholz, Alternate Stella hot the gold medal. The Round Robin had completed the team in third place. The Page playoff game they won against Russia and the semi-final against Denmark. In the final, they sat down 7-5 against Switzerland through.

Before the Olympic curling competitions in 2010 Schopps ensured representations concerning the games for a considerable media coverage. The curler would be " looked at already obliquely from the other athletes, according to the motto: What do they want here? ". Olympia was " just annoying " she verspüre no Olympic anticipation. However, they have a " very small hope " for an Olympic medal. The tournament ended with Schoepp their team with the sixth place.

After 22 years Schoepp won 28 March 2010 with her team again the Curling World Championship. In the Canadian Swift Current, the German team entered in the same occupation as before at the European Championships in 2009, defeating in the final the team Scotland to Eve Muirhead Skip to 8:6 after extra end stones.

Shortly before the 2012 World Championships in Canada Lethbridge is Schoepp injured during training (tibia head fracture, lateral ligament tear in the knee) and is replaced by Melanie Robillard.
