Andreas Prommegger

Andreas Prommegger ( born November 10, 1980 in Schwarzach im Pongau) is an Austrian snowboarder.

Career

Prommegger began his career as a skier, but switched in 1992 and entered the sport since then as snowboarders. He completed the first competitions two years later. In 1995 he was admitted to the Salzburg Provincial squad and made his debut in 1997 - now a member of the B- squad of the Austrian national team - in the World Cup. Prommeggers best result in this competition series for a long time remained a 19th rank he reached in November 1997 in the parallel slalom in Soelden. Just over two years later the Austrians scored his first World Cup top ten result, an eighth place in the parallel slalom in Tandadalen. During this time, the 20 -year-old was one for several years for junior world: In 1998, he had missed a medal at the Junior World Championship in fourth only just a year later he won the silver medal in the parallel giant slalom and 2000 he was in this discipline as well as in Parallel Slalom Junior World Championship title win.
