Andrej Klimovets ( originally white russian Андрэй Клімавец / Andrej Klimawez; born August 18, 1974 in Gomel, Belarus ) is a German handball coach and a former German national team. His playing position was the county position in the attack.

Career

As of February 2012, he stood at the HSG Wetzlar in the first handball league contract. Since he still had a play for the TSG Haßloch in his first race for the HSG Wetzlar, he was blocked by the DHB District Court for the entire season 2011/2012. As of September 2012, he played at TGS Pforzheim in the Handball Oberliga Baden- Württemberg. The only up to a year current contract he extended in December 2012 to end of season prematurely. In August 2013 Klimovets took over the vacant coaching job at TGS Pforzheim and ended his career as an active player.

With SK and SKA Minsk Gomel Klimovets was a total of six Belarusian champions. For Belarus Klimovets played 101 international matches in which he scored 328 goals. In 1996, he joined the Federal Republic of Germany, and received German citizenship in 2005. His international debut for Germany he was then on 26 October 2005 in Bremen against Croatia. In the 2007 Handball World Championship is Klimovets injured while warming up before the game against Argentina on 21 January 2007., He could through the torn muscle in his right calf in the following games until the semi-finals no longer be used. Heiner Brand -nominated Christian Schwarzer after him. However, in the semi-final against France, and in the final against Poland, he was reinstated and was primarily for his defensive work a share of the world title. He was awarded the Silver Laurel Leaf for this triumph.

Klimovets has a height of 1.97 m and weighs 103 kg. The qualified sports teacher is married and has two children.
