Andrew Prine

Andrew Lewis Prine ( born February 14, 1936 in Jennings, Florida ) is an American actor.

Life

Prine attended after his high school graduation in 1954, first to the University of Miami, but they left early and moved to New York City in order there to pursue an acting career in 1956 where he had his theater debut. The following year, he celebrated in Ketty Frings with the Pulitzer Prize-winning drama Look Homeward, Angel made ​​his debut on Broadway. From the end of the 1950s he worked also for television and initially joined in on guest appearances in television series such as Peter Gunn and Alfred Hitchcock Presents. In 1962, he received a major supporting role in the excellent with numerous film awards film drama The Miracle Worker, which was based on the autobiographical novel of the deafblind writer Helen Keller. In the same year he was awarded one of the two main roles in the Western series The Wide Country, but this was discontinued after the first season.

In the following years played Prine again mostly guest roles, often in the Western series such as Gunsmoke, Bonanza and The Men from Shiloh Ranch. He also had supporting roles in the larger Western Bandolero with James Stewart and Dean Martin and John Wayne Chisum next. During the 1970s and 1980s, he appeared as a guest star in various series of science fiction about crime series, doctor series, soap operas and sitcoms. In 1994, he appeared in Married with Children as Al Bundy's favorite TV hero Psycho Dad. Most recently he was seen in formats such as Boston Legal and Saving Grace.

Prine, a cousin of country singer John Prine, is married in fourth marriage. In 1962 he completed his first marriage to actress Sharon Farrell, but failed after a few months. In 1965 he married actress Brenda Scott. The marriage ended in divorce after a month in the following year, however, both married again. Since 1986, Prine is married to actress Heather Lowe.
