Andrews is a census -designated place (CDP ) in Levy County in the U.S. state of Florida with 798 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Geography

Andrews is bordered by the cities of Chiefland and Fanning Springs and is crossed on a common route of U.S. Highways 19, 27 and 98. The CDP is located approximately 20 km west of Bronson and about 160 km southwest of Jacksonville.

Demographics

According to the 2010 census, the then 798 inhabitants distributed in 361 households. The population density was 45.1 inh. / Km ². 94.4 % of the population were white, 0.9% African American, 0.4% Native American and 0.5 % Asian Americans. 1.9% were members of other ethnic groups and 2.0% in different ethnic groups. 6.0% of the population were Hispanic or Latino.

In 2010, children under the age of 18 and 38.3 % of all households lived in 30.5 % of all households with persons at least 65 years. 71.8 % of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring ). The average size of a household was 2.59 persons and the average family size is 3.00.

25.0 % of the population were younger than 20 years, 22.2% were 20-39 years old, 24.7% were 40-59 years old and 28.1 % were at least 60 years old. The median age was 43 years. 49.6 % of the population were male and 50.4 % female.

The average annual income was $ 35,637, while 8.8 % of the population lived below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 100 % of the population.

Economy

A significant industry, there is not. The main employment sectors are: education, health and social services: (10.5%), trade / retail ( 11.2%), finance, insurance and real estate ( 12.9%), transport, storage ( 17, 5%).
