Andrei Arshavin (2008)
Andrei Sergeyevich Arshavin (Russian: Андрей Сергеевич Аршавин; engl transcription. Andrei Arshavin, born 29 May 1981 in Leningrad, Soviet Union, Russian SFSR ) is a Russian football player. He acts generally as an attacking midfielder, but is also used as a wing midfielder and hanging next to a peak shock striker. Arshavin is regarded as good dribbler and ball players.

Zenit St Petersburg
Born in Leningrad Arshavin graduated from the famous football school of his hometown " Smena " before he was taken in 1999 by zenith under contract. Initially employed in the second team Zenit- 2 in the third Russian league, he was first used in the semi-finals of the UEFA Intertoto Cup in 2000 in a competitive match for the first team. In the early years still used as a pure right winger of the midfield, Arshavin made soon with Alexander Kerschakow in Premjer league feared duo. To enhance the penetration of the two yet, the build-up play at the zenith in mid-2003 has been rearranged so that Arschavin could act as a second striker. In that year he also won his first title, the Russian League Cup. Andrey Arshavin returns next season to his home club Zenit St. Petersburg back.
2006 Arshavin has been voted the best Russian football player and the best player of the Russian national team of the year. The following season he had surpassed with ten goals and eleven templates large share of the Zenit's first championship since the 80s, this success was in spring 2008 by winning the UEFA Cup.
Arsenal FC
On 2 February 2009 Arshavin moved to Arsenal and made his debut on February 21, 2009 in a game against Sunderland. His first goals for Arsenal, he scored 14 March 2009 on matchday 29 against Blackburn Rovers with a 1-0 and 2-0. On 21 April 2009, he scored four goals in a match against Liverpool at Anfield; the game ended 4-4. After the end of the 2012/13 season his expiring contract with the " Gunners " was not renewed.
Return to St. Petersburg
In February 2012, Arshavin St. Petersburg is on loan from Arsenal until end of season to Zenit. On 27 June 2013, the club gave a firm commitment, in which Arshavin valid until 30 June 2015 contract signed.
National
On 17 May 2002 Arshavin played in preparation for the 2002 World Cup with a game against Belarus for the first time in the Russian national football team, but was rejected from the squad before the final nomination; 2004 repeated this before the European Championship, here he was part of the extended squad in preparation, but was not considered for the final squad. At the latest during the qualifying for Euro 2008, he became the absolute leading player of Russian selection - next three goals he prepared six goals of his teammates, so he was called despite a lock for the first two group matches in the Russian squad for the Euro 2008. After settling, the lock he played in the three other EM games with Russian participation is always over the full period, scored two goals and was voted man of the match twice. At the end of the European Championship 2008, he was elected to the UEFA All Star Team.
Private
Arshavin successfully completed a fashion design studies. Arshavin is not married, but lived with his girlfriend Julia Baranowskaja since 2003 a relationship. The couple has three children, two sons and a daughter. However, according to press reports, the couple is said to have separated in June 2013.
He is a member of the Kremlin United Russia party. During the Russian presidential election in 2012 Arshavin was one of the " people familiar " Vladimir Putin.
Arshavin is an avid poker player. He regularly takes part in online tournaments at PokerStars.
Andrei Arshavin holds a 49% stake in the Russian joint-stock company " Avtodor Express", which is engaged in automotive service.
