Andriy Stadnik

Andriy Stadnik Wolodymyrowytsch (Ukrainian Андрій Володимирович Стаднік, Russian Андрей Владимирович Стадник / Andrei Vladimirovich Stadnik, born April 15, 1982 in Khmelnytskyi, Ukrainian SSR, Soviet Union) is a Ukrainian wrestler. He won a silver medal at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing in 2009 and European champion in each case in free style at lightweight.

Career

Stadnik began at the age of 10 years in 1992 with the rings. His first coach was his father Volodymyr Stadnyk. After studying at the Ukrainian Academy of letterpress he entered as a police officer in the service of the Ukrainian Interior Ministry. He heard since that time in the sport club Spartak / Dynamo Lvov (Lviv ), where it is trained by Sasa Sasirow and Viktor Perwachtschuk. He wrestles exclusively in free style.

As a junior, he started back in 1999 at the World Championships in Łódź ( Cadets ) and arrived there at featherweight on the 7th Place. Far more successful he was at the Junior European Championship ( Juniors) in 2002 in Tirana, for there he was at lightweight European champion before Elnur Aslanov from Azerbaijan and Mario welfare from Germany.

In the senior level, he came to a 11th place at the Universities of World Cup 2004 in Łódź in 2005 at the European Championships in Varna for his first medal win. He won among others, there with victories over Irbek Valentinovich Farnijew from Russia and Peter Engelhardt from Germany the bronze medal in lightweight. The same medal he won at the 2006 World Cup in Guangzhou / China. He was defeated in the semifinals where the Georgians Otar Tuschischwili, but previously had, inter alia, beaten with Leonid Spiridonov of Kazakhstan and Machatsch Murtasalijew from Russia two absolute top wrestler. The bronze medal he won in the fight against multiple world and European champion Serafim Barzakow from Bulgaria, he smooth with two round wins and 7:1 techn. Points defeated.

In 2007, Stadnik was at the international championships in terms of medal wins, empty out. At the European Championships in Sofia he was defeated in his first battle against the Armenians Schirair Howhannisjan (1:2 and 6:8 rounds techn. Dots). Since this did not reach the finals, he was eliminated and finished only 13th place. Things went better for him at the 2007 World Championships in Baku. He won there first four fights, but then lost to Ramazan Sahin from Turkey and missed with another defeat against Irbek Farnijew, against whom he clearly lost (0-2 rounds at 2:10 techn. Dots), the small final and reached the 5th Place. With this placement, but he had already secured a place at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.

At the 2008 European Championships in Tampere Stadnik won the lightweight against Gregor Sarrasins from Switzerland and Albert Batirow from Belarus, but then lost to Koba Kakaladse from Georgia and again against Schirair Howhannisjan and only came on the 7th Place. At the Olympic Games in Beijing, he was then at lightweight in much better shape. He defeated Doug Schwab there from the United States, Sushil Kumar from India, Albert Batirow and Leonid Spiridonov and was thus in the final against Ramazan Şahin. He gave this a balanced fight and was defeated only with 1:2 and 5:6 rounds techn. Points. The silver medal was the reward for his good services.

At the end of March 2009 staged in Vilnius European Championship he scored five victories. In the semifinals, he defeated while his nemesis Schirair Howhannisjan and in the final Jabrail Hasanow from Azerbaijan and thus became European Champion in the lightweight.
