Andrzej Stasiuk

Andrzej Stasiuk ( born September 25, 1960 in Warsaw) is a Polish author, journalist and literary critic.

Life

Stasiuk grew up in Grochów district in Warsaw's Praga district Południe on. By his own account, he was expelled from school and was active in the early eighties in the Polish pacifist opposition movement Ruch Wolność i Pokój. After he had deserted during his military service, he was sentenced to one and a half years in prison. Stasiuk now lives in Wołowiec in the Low Beskids.

Work
