Angel Krstev

Angel Krstev (* December 15, 1980 in Prague, Czechoslovakia) is a Czech ice hockey players of Bulgarian descent, who has a contract with HC Sparta Praha of the Czech Extraliga since May 2011.

Career

Angel Krstev began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the junior level of the club KK Kontruktiva Praha and later moved to HC Slavia Prague, for the first team he in the 1997/98 season his debut in the Extraliga was. In his debut season, he was awarded two penalty minutes in four games. In 1998 Krstev, whose father is from Bulgaria, was awarded the Czech citizenship. After he finished only a game for Slavia in the Extraliga in the following year and the rest of the time spent at the U20 Junior, the defender moved to the 1999/2000 season with the Lethbridge Hurricanes in the Canadian junior Western Hockey League. However, even before season's end, he returned to Prague. A large part of the season 2000/ 01 he spent in the first second-rate league when KLH Chomutov.

In the summer of 2001 Krstev signed with HC Liberec on the first league with him promotion to the Extraliga at the end of the 2001/02 season. At this success he had as a player the league relevant with the best plus / minus balance during the main round and the playoff share. For the Liberec links Sagittarius played a total of six years in the Extraliga, where he finished the 2004/05 season at HC České Budějovice in the 1st League, with which he also ascended into the Extraliga. After one season at HC Vitkovice Steel Krstev received a contract with newly promoted HC Kometa Brno. A few days later he was Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod borrowed from the Kontinental Hockey League for the 2009/10 season. After 21 KHL games for Torpedo, he returned to the Czech Republic and played for Kometa in the Extraliga before he was awarded the end of January 2010 to the Färjestad BK of the Elitserien.

During the 2010/11 season Krstev was awarded to Awtomobilist Yekaterinburg from the KHL. In May 2011 he received a contract for two seasons with the HC Sparta Praha.

Internationally

For Krstev Czech Republic took part in the U20 World Youth Championship in 2000, in which he became world champion with his team.
