Angelstad

Angelstad is a locality ( tätort ) in Sweden.

The place

The original development is stretched around the church and along the former railway line from Ljungby to Halmstad. Many of the houses were built at the end of the 18th century. Because of these buildings still preserved to Angelstad has preserved its charm. Therefore, it is also a popular tourist destination. In the village are now six apartment buildings, 19 double or row houses and several single-family homes. At the parish ( församlingen ) includes the villages of Hölminge, Bolmstad and Näglinge. There are also many recreational houses.

Living and working

The village has 276 inhabitants Angelstad to the parish include 970 people. Of the 970 people working about 460 who commute mostly to work in Ljungby. In and around Angelstad there are about 80 jobs.

Leisure

In Angelstad there are many active clubs. Public meeting places are the Municipal House ( församlingshem ) and the parish house ( sockenstuga ), Folkets hus and Hembygdspark with its museum. In the school there is a sports court and a tennis court.

Train

Angelstad has a preschool, a leisure center and a school for grades 0 to 6 The school works with the young cohorts with mixed age classes. The later vintages go to Kungshögskolan in Ljungby.

Nature and Culture

The area around the lake Bolmen is for outdoor activities of national interest and is therefore protected by the state. Northeast of Angelstad are the nature reserves Ronamossen and Klockesjömyren. The places Rya, Värset, Ularp, Bolmstad and the area around the church in Angelstad be used in summer as venues for performances of the cultural program of the Municipality Ljungby. At the lakes Bolmen and caressing there are very nice places to swim.
