Anjunabeats

Anjunabeats is a British record label that specializes in trance. It was founded in 2000 by Jono Grant and Paavo Siljamäki and has its headquarters in London. The first release was called Volume 1 by Anjunabeats and was in the club scene to a remarkable success. ( This release should not be confused with the later published mix CD Anjunabeats Vol 1 by Above & Beyond. )

A short time later learned Jono Grant and Paavo Siljamäki Tony McGuinness know and the three of them formed the trance project Above & Beyond. With their remix of Above & Beyond Home chakras track reached number one in the UK club charts. This brought the trio of course great fame and many other labels wanted them remixed their tracks. Probably the most interesting demand came from Madonna. She offered them her hit What it feels like for a girl to mix new.

This success of Above & Beyond, of course, also won its label to prominence. Also, their side projects, which bear the names of Oceanlab, Aalto, Free State, Nitromethane, POS, Rollerball and Tranquillity Base, gained notoriety and have been played by famous DJs like. In 2002, James Grant was added to management, whereby the label is further enlarged. There were new DJs like Rusch & Murray, Super8 and Smith & Pledger added.

In 2005 the sub-label Anjunadeep was founded. This label is dedicated to the more genres Progressive Trance and Progressive House.

Today Anjunabeats works closely with the German label euphonic records, so that, for example, tracks from Kyau & Albert appear on this label.

Anjunabeats nominated at the International Dance Music Awards in Miami in 2009 and 2010 as Best Global Dance Record Label.
