Anke Behmer

Anke Behmer (born father, born June 5, 1961 in Stavenhagen ) is a former German athlete who had - starting for the GDR - was in the 1980s and at the beginning of the 1990s to the world's top seven fighters.

Life

1980, after the introduction of the seven- fight, she became the first East German champion. At the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles, she was unable to attend because of the boycott of the GDR. In 1986 she married the Neubrandenburg Dreispringer Bodo Behmer and launched since then in competitions under its new name. Her achievements were winning the European Championship in 1986 in Stuttgart and the bronze medal at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul with a personal best ( 6858 points, individual performances: 13.20 s - 1.83 m - 14.20 m - 23.10 s - 6.68 m - 44.54 m - 2:04,20 min). For the sporting success in Seoul, she was awarded the Patriotic Order of Merit in bronze. In 1984 she was awarded the medal in silver.

Anke Behmer competed for the SC Neubrandenburg and trained with Klaus Baarck. In her competition time, she was 1.74 m tall and weighed 62 kg. In the becoming public knowledge after the fall of documents to the state doping in the GDR was found in the doped athletes also the name of Behmer. From 1980 to 1985 she was listed as unofficial employee of the Ministry for State Security of the GDR. Since retiring from active sports, it operates in Neubrandenburg a physiotherapy practice.
