Anne Henriette of Bavaria

Anna Henriette Julie of Pfalz- simmering ( born July 23, 1648 Paris, † February 23, 1723 in Paris) was a titular Countess Palatine of the Rhine from the line of Pfalz- simmering and by marriage Princesse de Condé.

Life

Anna Henriette was a daughter of Prince Edward of the Palatinate (1625-1663) from his marriage to Anna (1616-1684), daughter of Carlo I Gonzaga, Duke of Mantua, Montferrat, Nevers and Rethel. Her father had gone to Paris in 1645 and converted to Catholicism in order to get married. So Anna Henriette grew, like her sisters Marie Luise Henriette and Benedicta, in Paris on Catholic. After the death of her grandfather, Carlo Gonzaga in 1637 was Anna Henriette inherited the Principality of Arches with capital Charleville- Mézières.

They married on December 11, 1663 in Paris with Henri III. Jules de Bourbon, prince de Condé (1643-1709), who bore the title of Duke of Enghien to death of his father. In France it was called Anne -Henriette de Bavaria. The desire was promoted by her maternal aunt Luisa Maria Gonzaga, queen of Poland, the husband of her niece to leave after the death of King John II Casimir, choose King of Poland. King John Casimir had taken of a child, Anna Henriette.

Anna Henriette lived at the Petit Luxembourg Palace in the 6th arrondissement (Paris), where she gave the name of the Rue Palatine. She died 74 years old and not only survived her husband but also her 8 10 children. She was buried at the Carmel du faubourg Saint -Jacques in Paris.
