Annemarie Zimmermann

Anne Marie Zimmermann ( born June 10, 1940 in Lendersdorf ) is a former German canoeist.

Zimmermann started for the canoe Department of HSG ( Holzheimer Sports Community 1920 eV).

Achievements

  • Gold medal winner at the Olympic Games in 1964 ( time: 1:56.95 ) and the 1968 Olympic Games ( time: 1:56:44 ) in 2 - kayak over 500 m along with Roswitha eater
  • World Champion 1963 at the 2- kayak with Roswitha eater
  • German Champion in 2- kayak over 500 m with Roswitha Esser 1962, 1963, 1964, 1968 and 1969 and 1st kayak 1964
  • European champion in 1963 and bronze in 1969 with Roswitha eaters in 2's kayak, this silver 1969 4- kayak with Roswitha eater, Renate Breuer and Elke Felten

Awards

  • Sportswoman of the Year in 1964 along with Roswitha eater
  • Second in the choice of the athlete of the century in 1999, elected by the Neuss - Grevenbroicher newspaper together with Roswitha eater
