Annette Charles

Annette Charles ( born March 5, 1948, when Annette Cardona in Los Angeles, California; † August 3, 2011 ibid ) was an American actress.

Life

Charles was born Annette Cardona in the U.S. state of California. She played since the late 1960s episode roles and guest roles in several American television series, including High Chaparral (1968 ) Gunsmoke (1970), Bonanza (1972 ), Emergency! ( 1972 1974), The Seven -million dollar woman ( 1976 1977) and The Man from Atlantis ( 1977).

Her most famous role was as an attractive, provocative salsa dancer Cha Cha DiGregorio in the movie musical Grease (1978). It was introduced in the film as the best dancer at St. Bernadette 's High School. She embodied the ex-girlfriend of the film character Danny Zucco (played by John Travolta ) and current girlfriend of Leo, the leader of the gang Scorpions. In the film, she succeeded Danny his new love Sandy ( Olivia Newton-John ) " snatch " in the dance on the dance floor and play alongside Danny the nationally televised school dance competition at the Rydell High School. Her dance scene with John Travolta is considered " legendary".

After that, they had more television roles, including in the multi-part television series Colorado Saga ( 1978) and in the science fiction series The Incredible Hulk ( 1980). The movie database IMDb performs as her last appearance one episode role in the television series Magnum (1987).

After the end of her career as an actress in 2001 Charles purchased under her birth name, Annette Cardona at New York University, a Master's Degree in Social Work (Social Work). She taught then as a language teacher at California State University, Northridge in Los Angeles.

Charles died at the age of 63 years at her home in Los Angeles at the consequences of their cancer that had been diagnosed several months earlier. Charles had been admitted about four weeks before her death due to pneumonia in a hospital and treated there stationary.
