Antanas Vinkus

Antanas Vinkus ( born December 25, 1942 in Kretinga ) is a Lithuanian politician and former diplomat. He was also Mayor of Neringa, Ambassador to Estonia, Latvia and Russia, as well as Health Minister and Deputy Minister.

Life

From 1949 to 1960, he graduated from high school at the middle school Kretinga and 1960-1966 studies at Kauno medicinos institutas. 1966, from 1968 to 1970 he was a therapist in the Republic of Klaipėda Hospital and from 1966 to 1968 chief physician at the hospital Neringa.

From 1982 to 1986 he was sowjetlitauischer Deputy Minister of Health and from 1989 to 1990 Health Minister Soviet Lithuania, from 1990 Deputy to 1993, Minister of Social Affairs of Lithuania, 2002-2006 Ambassador to Estonia, from 2006 to 2008 in Latvia between 2008 and 2011 in Russia.

Since 2011, Antanas Vinkus Mayor of Neringa.

Honors

Since 2001 he is honorary citizen of Neringa.
