Anthony Ricketts

Anthony Ricketts ( born March 12, 1979 in Sydney ) is a retired Australian squash player.

Career

Ricketts rose in the course of his professional career constant in the world rankings. The largest and most important leap he made in 2002, when he was able to advance ten of the top 30 into the top. In that year he also won the silver medal in doubles at the Commonwealth Games in Manchester. In 2003 he was the World Champion title with the Australian national team. In 2004 he had a knee injury for the first time pausing for seven months, but the following year should be so far the best of his career: He succeeded in both the Tournament of Champions as well as to win the British Open, two of the most prestigious title of the PSA Tour. Consequently, Ricketts could climb in the world rankings to position three. Even earlier, however, he could never place. With the Australian national team in 2005, he took one last time at a World Team Cup finals.

The following year, 2006, Ricketts also won the PSA Super Series final against Lee Beachill. With his partner Stewart Boswell he also became world champion in double what Ricketts ' should be the last great title. In December 2007, he ended his career because of a persistent knee injury.

Anthony Ricketts is currently active as a coach at the Australian Institute of Sport in Brisbane.

Anthony Ricketts is married to the former New Zealand Profisquasherin Shelley Kitchen. The couple has two daughters.
