Anton Gavel

Anton Gavel ( born October 24, 1984 in Košice ) is a Slovak and German basketball player.

The 1.89 m wide and 87 -pound shooting guard played in his youth for BK Chemosvit before moving to Germany moved to BG Karlsruhe 2000. There, the young talent not only collected Bundesliga experience, but graduated in 2004 and graduated from high school. From 2004 he ran for two seasons for the 46ers from casting, for which he scored 14.1 points in 69 league operations on average and 2.7 assists hung up. Thus he was instrumental in reaching the playoff semifinals in 2005 and third place in the DBB Cup 2006. For this he was elected Rookie of the Year of the BBL season 2005/ 06.

After this breakthrough, the young point guard joined the Spanish Erstligamannschaft Polaris World Murcia. After two seasons, he went into the 2008/2009 season for the Greek club Aris Thessaloniki- on basket hunt. On 12 November 2009 The Brose Baskets Bamberg committed from the Slovak point guard to replace the injured John Goldsberry. Gavel initially received a contract for a month, which was extended in January 2010 to the end of the season. In August 2010, he again received a contract for two years. With the club he celebrated his greatest successes and won in 2010, 2011 and 2012, three times in a row the domestic double. In the BBL season 2011/12 he was also individually awarded " Best Defender " of the season. In the following season he won the award again and was also elected to the All- BBL First Team.
