Antonio Colom

Antonio Colom Mas ( born May 11, 1978 in Bunyola ) is a Spanish cyclist.

Career

Colóm was 1999 Amica Chips -Costa de Almeria professional. He celebrated his first success in 2002 Colchon Relax- Fuenlabrada, when he was the Ruta del Sol decide for themselves. In 2004 he moved then to Erstdivisionär Illes Balears and was successful. He won the overall classification of the Mallorca Challenge and a stage of the Tour of Valencia. In 2005, he was successful at the Mallorca Challenge again by winning the Trofeo Calvia. At the start of the 2006 season was back in top form. He won the Valencia tour including a stage. For the 2007 season, he joined the team Astana. He won the Trofeo Soller in the spring and later in the season a stage of the Dauphiné Libéré. After another season with Team Astana, he moved in 2009 to the new founded team Katusha. He won the Trofeo Inca, the overall rating of the Mallorca tour, a stage of the Tour of Algarve and the final stage of Paris - Nice. In April 2009, he was tested positive for EPO, which left his sudden move many victories in a dubious light. After a suspension was blocked in May 2010 for two years by the Spanish cycling federation.
