Antonio Mennini

Antonio Mennini ( born September 2, 1947 in Rome) is a diplomat of the Holy See.

Life

The Vicar General of Rome and archpriest of the Lateran Basilica, Cardinal Ugo Poletti, ordained him a priest on 14 December 1974. Pope John Paul II appointed him on 8 July 2000 on the titular per hac vice of Ferentium and Apostolic Nuncio in Bulgaria.

He received his episcopal consecration Cardinal Secretary of State, Cardinal Angelo Sodano, on 12 September of the same year; Camillo Cardinal Ruini were co-consecrators, Cardinal Vicar and Archpriest of the Lateran Basilica, and Jean -Louis Pierre Cardinal Tauran, President of the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue.

On November 6, 2002, he was appointed Apostolic Nuncio in Russia. On 26 July 2008, he was appointed Apostolic Nuncio in Uzbekistan. Benedict XVI. appointed him on 18 December 2010 as the Apostolic Nuncio to Great Britain.
