Antonov An-148

The Antonov An-148 is a twin- regional transport aircraft that was developed by the Ukrainian aircraft manufacturer Antonov.

History

The development of the type began in 2001 with the aim of a modern and economical regional aircraft as a replacement for the outdated, still originating from the Soviet Union aircraft Tupolev Tu- 134 and Yakovlev Yak-42 to develop. The basis of the design was the Antonov An-74 TK -300. The original development was identification Antonov An-74 -400 was later to Antonov An -174 before they decided on the final name An-148. The first flight of the prototype took place on 17 December 2004. The approval by the Ukrainian authorities and the Interstate Aviation Committee of the CIS took place on 26 February 2007. The series was supposed to begin production in 2007, but was continually delayed until mid-2009. In March 2009, AeroSvit, who ordered 10 copies of the type, one of the two pre-production prototypes took over. On 28 July 2009, the demonstration of the first production aircraft to potential customers was held in Voronezh. Meanwhile, the series production at VASO in Voronezh has started. Structural design and technology
