Anwynn

Anwynn is founded in 2007, Melodic Death Metal band from Belgium. The name comes from the Otherworld in Celtic ( Welsh ) Mythology. They currently stand at the label M & O Music under contract, where just their first studio album was released Forbidden songs. They also have a demo, Behind the Veil, and an EP Newydd Wawr published.

History

Founding (2007)

Prior to founding Anwynn Wallace, Mathias and Fred played together in Arawn, a heavy metal band. When Arawn disbanded in December 2006, Wallace and Fred decided to continue the adventures together and have so established Anwynn. Since she still wanted to play traditional Heavy Metal, they sought first a singer for the band. Quick but they decided to give each candidate a chance and began to sing and singers leave. In February 2007, bassist Vincent " WOBI " Van Loo joined. Shortly thereafter completed mezzo-soprano singer Amandine Blanquet the occupation.

First shows and Behind the Veil (2008-2009)

Anwynn then played their first concert in VitamineZ in Wavre, where the band also won the Audience Prize. Then they played at Angel 's Rock I in Uccle, at B52 is Ostend and at the factory in Liège, and in other bars and cafes. In 2008, their first demo, Behind the Veil, published. Then there were a few changes in the cast: Mathias separated from the band and was replaced by Jeremy LAITEM ( Sekhmet ), and Vladimir took a new post at behind the keyboard. Slowly Anwynn developed into a symphonic metal band.

Newydd Wawr and new cast (2010-2011)

2010 was a year for many, brought about by four new members changes: Astrid Kaiserman on keyboards, Benoît Becker on rhythm guitar, Vincent " McBouc " Carton on the microphone and Forster Perelsztejn - later replaced by Laurent Verheylewegen - on drums. Anwynn began to write darker and more aggressive songs. So they slowly developed into a melodic death metal band with symphonic elements. The band announced that their first EP, Newydd Wawr, would be released in December. Anwynn played in April alongside headliners The Scorpions at the Power Prog & Metal Festival 2010, and in October with Arch Enemy, Epica, The Agonist and many others at the Metal Female Voices Festival 2010. Early 2011 left Laurent Benoît and the band due to artistic differences.

Forbidden Songs ( since 2011 )

In July 2011, Julien " Jukka " Huyssens joined on rhythm guitar for the band. This band announced that they record their first studio album Forbidden Songs in October. The album was recorded in Studio Manic by Olivier Wittenberg ( Manic Movement), which can be heard on the album as a studio drummer, recorded, mixed and mastered. It was published by the French record company M & O Music on 23 April 2012 and received good reviews from the music press. Then toured Anwynn with a new drummer, Florent "flush " Boudry ", by the way Skeptical Minds and Izegrim with Diabulus in Musica as part of their The Wanderer Tour. They also played on several Belgian festivals, including the Dark Moon Festival, the drum skirt 2012 with Grave Digger, Sirenia and Cripper and were also invited by the Danish power metallers Seven Thorns to play with them in Flensburg., the band announced that they on the 10th Anniversary Edition of Metal Female Voices Festival on October 20, 2012, inter alia Lacuna coil, Arch Enemy, Delain and Arkona would play.

Style

Music

Anwynn combines different styles of music, with most songs by traditional death metal riffs, Heavy Metal excel - oriented solos and powerful orchestration. Amandines mezzo-soprano is complemented by McBoucs guttural vocals.

Influences

Anwynn is influenced by various European and American metal bands, including Amon Amarth, Cannibal Corpse, Nightwish, Iron Maiden, Hatebreed, Machine Head, Dimmu Borgir, Arch Enemy, Leaves' Eyes and Tristania.

Texts

The texts of the songs are mainly Anwynns of Celtic mythology, but also of piracy in "Across the Seven Seas " or the conquest of the New World in " Conquistador ". Other songs, especially " Free" and " At the Gates of Madness", relate to issues of psychology.
