Aratus (crater)

10:23

Aratus is a small, round and cup-shaped crater with a relatively high albedo on the plateau south and east of the rugged Montes Apenninus. In the east, the Mare Serenitatis and extends southwest is the crater Conon.

North -northeast of Aratus, in the valley between the Mons Hadley Delta and the Mons Hadley, is the landing site of Apollo 15

An unusual structure in this case represents Aratus CA, where it is not a secondary craters, but a far-off from the main crater and with this non-contiguous sink in the plane of Mare Serenitatis.
