The Lviv Arena is a football stadium in the Ukrainian city of Lviv (Ukrainian Львів, Lviv ). The stadium was the venue for three group matches of the European Football Championship 2012, including joined the German national football team there twice. It is also the venue of Karpaty Lviv of the Premjer - Liha.

History

Construction began in November 2008. The stadium has a capacity of 34 915 seats. The construction contract was awarded the German Hochtief Construction. The grand opening of the unfinished stadium took place on October 29, 2011. The EM venue had to be opened before the end of the works, because according to UEFA's stadium must go into operation at least six months before the first official game.

From the initially estimated cost of 70 million euros, a sum of about 220 million euros, which will be largely met from public funds developed in the end. Location

The stadium is located near the bus station ( Awtowoksal ) and the horse racetrack ( Ipodrom ), at the Striyska and M 06, about 10 km south of the old town.
