Arkefly

Arkefly is the brand name of Dutch carrier TUI Airlines Nederland, based in Amsterdam and base at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. It is a subsidiary of the German tourism group TUI and a member of its composite TUI Airlines.

History

TUI Airlines Nederland was founded in 2005 as a charter airline, TUI Nederland as the bankrupt firm Holland Exel took over and in the alliance TUI Airlines (formerly TUIfly, not to be confused with the same airline) integrated.

As of the winter timetable 2011/12 Arkefly built again from the long-haul flights. This meant that, among other Brazilian destinations Natal and Fortaleza have since been served with medium-haul Boeing 737-800 - on round-trip flight, therefore, be made refueling stops in Espargos on the Cape Verde Islands. Also on the links to Mombasa and Dubai the 737-800 come with stops used.

In the summer of 2013 a new aircraft painting was introduced for Arkyfly which is similar to that of sister company Thomson Airways.

Destinations

Arkefly leads from Amsterdam - Schiphol Airport mainly by holiday destinations in North and South America, the Caribbean and Europe. Be Flew example, Toronto, Oranjestad, Montego Bay, Rhodes and Lanzarote. The flights are booked either individually or in conjunction with the parent TUI Travel Packages.

As of the winter timetable 2013/2014 Arkefly On behalf of the German TUI respectively TUIfly by long-haul flights from Hamburg to holiday destinations in Central America. TUIfly does not have appropriate long-haul aircraft.

Fleet

As of February 2014, the fleet of Arkefly consists of ten aircraft with an average age of 11.5 years:

  • 5 Boeing 737-800 ( winglets ), each with 180 seats
  • 5 Boeing 767 -300ER, each with 272 seats ( 3 equipped with winglets )
