Armin Görtz

Armin Görtz ( born August 30, 1959 in Dortmund ) is a former German football player.

Armin Görtz played at left-back and left midfielder primarily on the left wing. He began his career in the early 1980s at Eintracht Frankfurt and FSV Frankfurt and tried his luck from 1983 in the Belgian first division at Beveren and Waregem. In the 1985/86 season he was with Waregem in the semifinals of the UEFA Cup and lost there against 1 FC Cologne. However, he fell into these two games on the leaders of the Cologne traditional club and they took him for the next season to Cologne. There he developed under the young coach Christoph Daum to a fixed size. In 1988, he came under Franz Beckenbauer two appearances in the German national team and won at the Olympics in Seoul the bronze medal. With the 1st FC Cologne, he was in 1989 and 1990 German Vice-Champion. In 1990 he moved to Hertha BSC, but increased with the Berliners in the same season in the Bundesliga from. Nevertheless, he remained in Berlin and even played two years in the second league, before he finished his career in 1993 due to injuries. Overall, he brought it to 144 inserts in the 1st Bundesliga and scored 9 goals.
