Arnholdt Kongsgaard

Arnholdt John Kongsgård ( born November 23, 1914 in Kongsberg, † January 22, 1991 ) was a Norwegian ski jumper.

Kongsgård, who started for the club of his hometown Kongsberg IF, achieved its first successes in the 1930s. At the 1936 Winter Olympics in Garmisch -Partenkirchen Kongsgård jumped on the normal hill with jumps of 74.5 and 66.0 m on the 8th Place. In the Norwegian Championship 1938 in Mo i Rana, he won the silver medal behind Reidar Andersen from the normal hill. In the Nordic World Ski Championships 1938 in Lahti, he was sixth at the end of the large hill. A year later he repeated his success in the Norwegian championship and this time landed just behind Birger Ruud. In the Nordic World Ski Championships 1939 in Zakopane, he won the bronze medal behind Joseph Bradl and Birger Ruud. In the Norwegian Championship 1946 in Alvdal he again won silver on the normal hill and had to deal only Asbjørn Ruud beaten. In the same year, 87.5 m Kongsgård with a new hill record on the Vikersundbakken on, he again improved 88.5 m in 1948. The record held until 1951.

Arnholdt Kongsgård is the grandfather of the successful snowboarder Anne Molin Kongsgård.
