Arnold Kadlec

Arnold Kadlec ( born January 8, 1959 in Most, Czechoslovakia ) is a former Czech ice hockey player.

Career

Arnold Kadlec began his career as a hockey player in the junior department of CHZ Litvinov, for the seniors team, he was from 1976 to 1978 in the first league, the highest Czechoslovak league, active. Then he had to serve his military service and played from 1978 to 1980 for the army sports club Dukla Jihlava ASD, before he returned for another nine years to CHZ Litvinov. The 1989/90 season spent the defender Lukko Rauma in the Finnish SM- liiga. For the following season, he joined the SHC Fassa in the Italian Serie A1. Finally, the two -time Olympian ran in the 1991/92 season for the KHL VTJ Chomutov in the first ČNHL, the second Czechoslovak league, on, before he ended his career at the age of 33 years.

Internationally

For Czechoslovakia Kadlec took part in the junior level only at the U20 World Youth Championship 1979, where he won the silver medal with his team. In the senior level, he stood in his country's squad at the World Championships in 1981, 1982, 1983, 1985 and 1986 and at the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid and in Sarajevo in 1984. At the World Championships 1981 he won the bronze at the World Championships in 1982 and 1983 and the 1984 Winter Olympics, respectively the silver and at the World Championships 1985 Gold medal with the Czechoslovakia. Furthermore, he took up for Czechoslovakia at the 1981 Canada Cup, where he was elected to the All-Star team.
