Arrondissement of Montargis

The arrondissement of Montargis is an administrative unit in the Loiret in the Centre region. Sub-prefecture is Montargis.

It consists of twelve cantons and 126 municipalities.

From 1926 to 1942

With the reform of 1926, the arrondissement Gien was finally resolved, the district Pithiviers until 1942. Here, the arrondissement of Montargis was the cantons Briare, Châtillon -sur -Loire and Gien ( see above) and to 1942 by which the cantons Beaune- la- extended Rolande and Puiseaux.
