Ars Rediviva

Ars Rediviva was a Czech chamber music ensemble, a crucial boost to the rediscovery of Baroque music was in his country and devoted himself to the questions of historical performance practice.

Formation

It was founded in 1951 by flutist and musicologist Milan Munclinger and his wife, the pianist and harpsichordist Viktorie Švihlíková. In the basic occupation also played two solo players of the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra Stanislav Duchoň ( oboe) and František Sláma (cello). Ars Rediviva concert cycle

1954-94 was the ensemble subscription concerts, beginning in the Wallenstein Palace in Prague, later in the Dvořák Hall of the Rudolfinum. The series of six evening concerts were then connected also reprises. Until 1994, here are some hundred compositions have been performed, with the music of Johann Sebastian Bach was in the foreground.
