Asia Society

The Asia Society is a large global non-governmental organization whose mission is to improve the relations between Asian countries and the United States of America. John D. Rockefeller III founded the organization in 1956. Located in New York headquarters, the Rockefeller Collection of Asian Art is issued.

The work of the society is trying to improve with activities in the fields of politics, culture, education and business relations between the two regions. Purposes, it maintains offices in New York City, Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Washington, DC, Hong Kong, Manila, Melbourne, Shanghai, Mumbai and Seoul.

One goal is that the topics of International Relations part of the curriculum for all students is worldwide. The company is supported by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

The Asia Society receives donations and support from many different companies and organizations, such as American International Group, Citigroup, Coca -Cola, Getty Foundation, Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, Sony, ExxonMobil, IBM, Johnson & Johnson, Merck, McKinsey or Time Warner.
