Asopus

Asopus (Greek Ἀσωπός ) In Greek mythology, a river god, which is based on two different rivers of this name in Boeotia and west of Corinth.

When his parents are called according to Apollodorus Oceanus and Tethys, Poseidon and Zeus and Eurynome or Pero.

He had two sons and twelve or twenty daughters with metope, a daughter of the river god Ladon, including Ismenos, Pelasgos, Kleone, Salamis, Sinope, Peirene, Oenia, Thebe, Kerkyra, Thespia, Chalkis and Aegina. He was the grandfather of Aeacus.

He inquired of the wayward king of Corinth, Sisyphus by name, who had one of his daughters abducted Aegina. In return, he built on the Akrokorinth a water source.
