Asser Kuveri Kapere

Asher Kuveri Kapere ( born June 11, 1951 in Omaruru, Namibia ) is a Namibian politician and since 2005 Chairman of the Namibian National Council. He is since 1975 a member of SWAPO and since 1997 the Central Committee of the Party.

Training

Asher Kapere is a trained at the University of Namibia teacher for primary and secondary schools and holds a Diploma in Public Administration of the Polytechnic of Namibia ( 2001).

Career

Asher Kapere worked in 1974 and 1975 as a teacher at St. Theresa Secondary School in Tse.

From 1991 to 1992 Kapere was chairman of the local government in Western Namibia (now Erongo Region ), since 1993 he has councilor in the constituency Arandis and was also governor of the Erongo (1993-1999 ) region. Was Kapere representatives of the Erongo region in Namibia's National Council since 1999.

Between 2002 and 2005 Kapere was Vice Minister of Public Works, Transport and Communication. Since then, he has been Chairman of the National Council.
