Aswan Governorate

Aswan Aswan or (Arabic محافظة أسوان Muhafazat Aswān, DMG Muhafazat Aswān ) is a governorate in Egypt with 1,184,432 inhabitants.

It is in the south of the country, in Upper Egypt, on both sides of the Nile. The capital is the city of Aswan.

It is bordered to the north by the province al - Uqsur (Luxor ), to the east by the province al -Bahr al Red Sea, on the south by Sudan, and on the west by the province al - New Valley. To this province belongs to the Lake Nasser. The eastern part of the province extends into the Arabian Desert.
