Atlético de Rafaela

The Asociación Mutual Social y Deportiva Atlético de Rafaela or short Atlético de Rafaela is an Argentine football club based in Rafaela, Santa Fe. The club, founded in 1907 is set in the 2011/12 season in La Liga, the top division in Argentine football and city rivals Sportivo Ben Hur.

Nickname of the association is due to the importance of the dairy industry in Rafaela La Crema.

History

In 1907, the club was founded as Club Atlético Argentino de Rafaela. In 1915, they decided on the name of Club Atlético de Rafaela.

In 1988 the club was converted to a non -profit - oriented company and renamed Asociación Mutual Social y Deportiva Atlético de Rafaela.
