Auburn (New South Wales)

Auburn is a suburb in western Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Auburn is located 19 kilometers west of the city center and is the administrative headquarters of the administrative area ( LGA) Auburn Council.

The suburb was named after the poem The Deserted Village by Oliver Goldsmith, which describes Auburn in England as the lovable village in the area.

Auburn calls himself happy even as the multi - kulturellste Community in Australia. The original Anglo- Celtic population has been slowly replaced by a high percentage of immigrants from Turkey, Lebanon and Vietnam. The four predominant religions in Auburn are Islam ( 40%), Catholicism (15%), Buddhism ( 7%) and Anglican ( 4%). 10 % of the population are non-denominational.
