Audi Senna

The Audi Senna Ltda., Often referred to Audi do Brasil, is a received in Ingolstadt on 18 November 1993 a joint venture between Audi AG and Senna Import Participações Ltda. of the 1994 fatalities Formula 1 racing driver Ayrton Senna. Audi took part in the work initially with only an initial investment of 49 percent. Since March 2005, the plant with the company's headquarters in São José dos Pinhais, Curitiba, Brazil is a 100 percent subsidiary of Audi AG.

History

As of March 1994, the Senna Import Participações Ltda. sole importer of Audi vehicles in Brazil. Construction of the plant in São José dos Pinhais however, began after the death of the racer in the spring of 1997 under the project management of the company based in Ulm Scherr Klimke AG and lasted a total of 17 months. The inauguration ceremony with the Brazilian President Fernando Henrique Cardoso took place on 18 January 1999. The management of the Brazilian production plant is under Matthias Seidl. Audi Senna since the takeover by Audi a part of Volkswagen do Brasil Ltda.

In 2000, Audi AG as a second joint venture, the Audi Brasil Distribuidora de Veículos Ltda. Based in São Paulo, which operates been the official marketing organization for vehicles of the Audi brand in the Brazilian market. In addition to the South American countries, among others, the markets South Korea, Australia, New Zealand and Japan produced in Brazil are supplied. The company Audi do Brasil e Cia, founded in 1997 is exclusively responsible for the after-sales management.

Produced vehicle models

The first vehicle model A3 was produced in Brazil, the Audi which rolled in its first generation there until the summer of 2006 the band. After the completion of production of the first generation of this A3 is replaced by the current.

On behalf of the Volkswagen Group and the models VW Fox, VW CrossFox and the VW Golf are built here. The golf is there currently produced yet in the fifth generation, was awarded for the South American market, however, a modified appearance.
