Aultmore distillery

Aultmore is a whiskey distillery in Keith, Banffshire, Scotland, United Kingdom.

History

The distillery was built in 1896 by Alexander Edwards. 1898 she was part of its Oban & Aultmore - Glenlivet Distilleries. In 1913 she became the property of John Dewar & Sons and in 1925 it was acquired by Distillers Company Limited ( DCL).

1970/1971 Aultmore has been renovated and it expanded from two to four stills. In 1987 United Distillers (UD) the distillery. 1998 Diageo sold / UD the distillery as part of Dewar's along with Bombay Sapphire Gin for 1,150 million pounds of Bacardi ..

Production

The water belonging to the Highlands / Speyside distillery comes from Auchinderran Burn. The malt comes from the United Distillers in Burghead Maltings, Roseisle and Glenesk. The distillery has a mash tun ( mash do ) (9.2 tons ) of stainless steel and six fermentation tanks (wash backs) ( per 46,500 L) in larch wood. Is distilled in two wash stills ( per 15,500 liters ) and two spirit stills are heated by steam ( per 14 859 l).

Samples

Since 2004 there is a 12 -year-old single malt as original bottling. From the Rare Malts series of United Distillers, there is a 21 -year-old.
