Avi Wortzman

Abraham Warzman (Hebrew אַבְרָהָם וורצמן, also Wartzman Avi, Avi Avi Wortzman or Vertzman; born October 29, 1970 in the city of Be'er Sheva, Israel) is an Israeli minister, politician and Knesset member of HaBajit haJehudi. He is with Ilanit Warzman (Hebrew אִילָנִית וורצמן ) married; they have four children together (as of 2011 ).

Life

Warzman studied at the Ohel Shlomo yeshiva in Be'er Sheva, which has close ties to the B'nai Akiva. He also studied at the Merkas HaRaw Kook Yeshiva in Jerusalem.

He did military service in the Giv'ati Brigade of the IDF in the Hesder Jeschiwat Or Etzion (Hebrew ישיבת אור עציון ).

After his military service he returned to Beersheba, and founded in 1993, Beit Moriah Garin Torani in 1993, who worked in the education sector.

In 2008, he served as Chairman of the United Religious Front in local elections in Be'er Sheva, where the Alliance received three seats.

He was vice - mayor in the city of Be'er Sheva, where he was responsible for the concerns of the community members and social welfare.

In 2008 he was a candidate for the party presidency of HaBajit haJehudi, which was thwarted by the successful candidacy Daniel Herschkowitzs.

Before the elections in 2013 commissioned him Naftali Bennett to run for the Knesset as an MP, and was placed number 8 in the electoral list of the HaBajit haJehudi. Since the party won 12 seats, he could enter the Knesset as a deputy. He is current vice- Israeli Minister of Education.
