Aziz Zakari

Aziz Zakari (as Abdul Aziz Zakari, born June 8, 1976 in Accra ) is a Ghanaian athlete who specializes in the 100 -meter run.

He was over 100 and 200 meters in 2002 African champions. He arrived at the World Athletics Championships 2001 in Edmonton for the first time in a major championship finals and finished eighth. At the Olympic Games in Athens in 2004, he qualified for the finals also, but did not finish the race. A year later, he qualified again for the final at the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki in 2005 and was in Edmonton as eighth. His personal best he set June 14, 2005 at the Grand Prix meeting in Athens with 9.99 s. In 2006, he was standing in the world rankings to number three behind Justin Gatlin and Asafa Powell, when he was tested on 29 April after a track and field meeting in Dakar positively to Stanozolol. On 22 September 2006, the International Association of Athletics Federations IAAF gave a 2-year doping ban known, which ended on June 8, 2008.
