Babes in Toyland (1986 film)

Adventures in Toyland ( Babes in Toyland ) is an American adventure film from the year 1986. Directed by Clive Donner, screenplay by Paul Zindel based on an operetta by Glen MacDonough and Victor Herbert.

Action

Eleven year old Lisa Piper supervised her siblings and is dedicated to the other chores, so she has no time to play. On Christmas Day there is an accident, wakes up after the Piper in the fictional Toyland. There, Mary Contrary to marry the unloved Barnaby Barnicle, although she loves Jack Nimble. Piper prevent the wedding. She discovers that Barnicle wants to take over power in Toyland. You, Contrary and Nimble contact the puppeteer, which requires that Piper believes in toys. He puts on a toy army and sells Barnicle from Toyland.

Contrary Nimble and marry. Piper returns home again, thinking after waking up, their experiences were a dream.

Drew Barrymore was nominated in 1988 for the Young Artist Award.

Background

The film was made in Munich. It was produced for television and broadcast by the National Broadcasting Company on 19 December 1986, however, on 17 December 1987 in the German cinemas. While the original movie had a length of about 140 minutes, the video version has been greatly reduced.
