Bagni di Lucca

Bagni di Lucca is a town with 6152 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Lucca. It is located about 25 km north of the provincial capital of Lucca.

Bagni di Lucca ( Baths of Lucca) is an old, boasted in his time thermal spa in the valley of Lima River, a tributary of the river Serchio. A detailed description of the local bathing practices in 1580 we owe Michel de Montaigne's " Diary of a watering-place ." Even in the 19th century still illustrious guests went to the baths. For example, Heinrich Heine, " The Baths of Lucca " occupied it with his travelogue.
