Baki the Grappler

Grappler Baki (Japaneseグラップラー 刃牙, Gurappurā Baki ) is a manga series by Keisuke Itagaki, who was repeatedly continued and adapted into an anime. It is classified in the genres of sports, action and shōnen and deals with the career of the young fighter Baki Hanma.

Content

The story revolves around a boy named Baki Hanma (范马 刃 牙) and his challenge to become the strongest fighter in the world. This track so far holds his father Yujiro Hanma (范马 勇 次郎). Bakis mother Emi Akezawa (朱 沢 江 珠) to their recognition he wrestles wants, just that her son is the strongest and can one day defeat his father. But they sent him to many coaches of various martial arts and street fighter can attack Baki. In this way, the 15 -year-old meets new challenges.

The manga was released in Japan from 1991 to 1999 in the shōnen manga magazine Weekly Champion of the publisher Akita Shoten. Later, the publication followed in 42 anthologies. The manga was continued in Baki, which appeared from 1999 to 2005 in the same magazine. The factory covers 31 volumes. As of 2005, the second sequel followed, entitled Hanma Baki, also in Shōnen Champion, which was completed in 2012 with 37 volumes. In 2005, the spinoff Baki Gaiden was - Scarface by Yukinao Yamauchi published.

The first series was released in English in the magazine Raijin Comics in the U.S. and Canada. Ever Glory Publishing brought him out in Taiwan. Delcourt brought the first sequel out in French.

Anime

In 1994, the 45-minute original video animation Grappler Baki was released in Japan.

2001 anime series was produced to manga and directed by Hitoshi Nanba, which includes 24 episodes. The character design is by Naoyuki Itō and the artistic director had Minako Akaishi held. The series aired from 8 January to 25 June 2001 in Japan by TV Tokyo. A second season with another 24 episodes aired from July 22, 2001. The series was broadcast in Germany from April 11, 2012 at the pay-TV channel Animax with German synchronization.

The OVA was released by Manga Entertainment in Australia and the UK and broadcast by the station space power in Arabic. The series was broadcast on English, Arabic and Tagalog on TV and also translated into French.

Header title of the first season are Ai Believe by Project Baki and Child Prey by Dir En Grey, closing songs are All Alone and Reborn by Project Baki.

The opening credits of the second season was highlighted with All Alone, the guy with Loved, both titles by Project Baki.
