Bala Town F.C.

Bala Town ( Welsh: Clwb Pel Droed Bala ) is a Welsh football club based in Bala, who is currently playing in the League of Wales. The home games are played in the Maes Tegid - Stadium on Bala Lake ( Llyn Tegid in Welsh, the largest lake of Wales).

History

Previous clubs were Bala Bala North End and South End, who were rivals until 1897 and then merged in 1921 the club Bala Thursdays. The team wore their games at Castle Park Cricket Ground today. In the early 1950s, the club moved into its new field in Maes Tegid.

The club played mostly in the second or third division until he was promoted in the 2003/04 season in the League of Wales and claimed there the following season in 4th place. In the season 2006/ 07 has been installed around the playing field floodlighting and 300 seats, which were extended in 2012 to 500 seats.

In the 2012/13 season, Bala Town qualified as winners of the relegation round of the Welsh playoff games for the UEFA Europa League. Here, the association was able to prevail with three wins against three clubs in the championship round, thus playing in the 2013/14 season for the first time internationally.
