Balance beam

The balance beam is a sports machine of women in Artistic Gymnastics - even for the all-around. It consists of a 5 m long and 10 cm wide wooden beams (some are also other materials available), up to 1.2 m is located on supports above the ground. Gymnastics on the balance beam is an Olympic sport since 1936.

Typical gymnastics on the balance beam, jumps, holding parts, flips forward and backward as well as rotations. In particular, back handspring, somersault forwards and backwards, as well as Rondat handstand spins belong to the repertoire of modern exercises on the balance beam.

Materials

The body is in modern competition -distorting devices from light metal profile, which is covered with a fleece cover and padded. The bar ends are additionally covered with foam to prevent injury to the finish.

Cheaper training equipment are made of pine and are coated with a non-slip mat.
