Ballast Nedam

The Ballast Nedam - N.V. is a publicly traded Dutch company. Ballast Nedam, a construction company and is active in many areas of the construction industry. Especially in the field of hydraulic engineering, transport engineering and offshore structures BN is known about the Netherlands also.

Shares of BN are traded on NYSE Euro next Amsterdam, where they are in the index AScX included.

History

The founder of the existing since 1917 Ned. Aannemingsmaatschappij (short: Nedam ) ( seat of the International Court of Justice today ) was already in the building of the Peace Palace involved. The existing since 1877 Amsterdamsche Ballast Maatschappij was inter alia involved in the construction of the final dike. In 1969 merged these two long-established companies.

Among the internationally known projects in which the company has worked include:

  • The Oosterschelde storm surge barrier (1986 ) in the Dutch Delta Works;
  • The King Fahd Causeway (1986 ), the bridge and causeway link between Saudi Arabia and Bahrain;
  • The Amsterdam Arena ( 1996);
  • The Confederation Bridge (1997 ) between the Canadian provinces of New Brunswick and Prince Edward Iceland;
  • The Storebæltsbroen (West Bridge ) ( 1998) across the Great Belt.
