Baniewo ( German Banow ) is a small village in the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship. It belongs to the rural community Malechowo ( Malchow ) in the powiat Slawienski ( Schlawe ).

Geographical location

Baniewo located in Pomerania, three kilometers north-west of Ostrowiec ( Wusterwitz ). It is bordered by the towns of Smardzewo ( Schmarsow ) Dybowo ( Dybow ) Kosierzewo ( Kusserow ) and Podgórki ( German Puddiger ). Station is Sławno.

History

The former farm with farm worker houses before 1945 had a size of 250 hectares, which were dedicated to the Kartoffelsaatbau, dairy farming and cattle breeding.

By 1945 Banow was a part of the community Wusterwitz, was the seat of the administrative district Wusterwitz and to the registry office blessing Thin ( Żegocino ) and district court in the district Schlawe Schlawe i Pom. belonged in the district of Pomerania Pomerania.

Shortly before the end of World War II Banow was occupied on 7 March 1945 by the Soviet Army. After the war Banow was placed under Polish administration and renamed Baniewo.

The village is now part of Gmina Malechowo in powiat Slawienski the West Pomeranian Voivodeship ( to 1998 Koszalin Voivodeship ).

Church

Banow was incorporated prior to 1945 in the Protestant church Wusterwitz ( Ostrowiec ), with the German Puddiger ( Pogórki ) formed a separate parish in the Church Schlawe the Church Province of Pomerania in the Church of the Old Prussian Union. Today Baniewo is part of the Catholic parish Ostrowiec deanery in the Diocese of Koszalin - Kolobrzeg Sławno. Evangelical local residents belong to the parish Koszalin ( Koszalin ) in the Diocese of Pomerania - Greater Poland the Evangelical-Augsburg Church.

The school children from Banow attended school in Wusterwitz.
