Barak (Hebrew בָּרָק, "lightning" ), the son of Abinoam is a person from the period of the Judges of the Hebrew Bible and the Old Testament. (Ri 4.1 to 5.31 EU)

Barak was the military leader of the Israelites at the time of Judge Deborah. This had instructed him to move with ten thousand men of Naphtali and Zebulun, from the tribes against Jabin the king of Canaan. The king had the Israelite people suppressed for twenty years, because it was once again fallen from YHWH and did what the Lord displeased. Barak defeated ten thousand soldiers from the tribes of Zebulun and Naphtali (Judg. 4.10 AU) from Mount Tabor from the army of Jabin's army, with nine hundred iron chariots devastating (Ri 4.14 EU).

Sisera died later, as prophesied by Deborah (Judg. 4.9 EU), by the hand of a woman. Jael the wife of Heber, a Kenite allied with Jabin (Judg. 4.9 EU), killed him with a nail and a hammer at the temple (Ri 4.21 EU).

Jabin is later killed by the Israelites, although in the previous book of Joshua Hazor already destroyed Jabin was killed. (Joshua 11.10 to 15 EU)
