Baron Johann von Wessenberg-Ampringen

Johann Philipp Freiherr von Wessenberg Ampringen ( born November 28, 1773 in Dresden, † August 1, 1858 in Freiburg ) was an Austrian statesman and diplomat.

Life

He was 1809-10 Austrian ambassador in Berlin. 1811-13 and 1818-20 in the same position in Munich and 1830-35 in the Hague. From June to November 1848 Johann Wessenberg was Minister of Foreign Affairs and Prime Minister. His brother was the last vicar-general of Constance Ignaz Heinrich von Wessenberg.

Family

His daughter Henriette married about 1827 the Prussian officer Joseph von Boos zu Waldeck ( 1798-1880 ), later co-founder of the " Mainzer nobility association".
